Made of cast iron finished with what appears to be copper flashing under several layers or lacquer or varnish. Reading Hardware Co., Reading, PA, 1885-1910. The earliest illustration I found of this particular pattern (with its distinctive three-diamond motif) is in Reading Hardware Co.'s 1885 catalog.
